Congratulations to Ethan Clark, Madeline Fliehs, Seth Johnson, and Travis Townsend for earning second place in the team division of the Simmons Invitational MathCounts Competition on Wednesday and to Madeline Fliehs for placing among the top ten individuals in the countdown round!  Well done, mathletes!

There will be a One-Act play open-dress rehearsal on January 22nd at 6:30pm in the high school gym.  All are welcome to attend; please spread the word and tell your families.  This is the day before region contest!

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the Feb. 10 test is due online by Jan. 12 .  Register atwww.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: April 14, June, July, Sept. Oct. and Dec.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.

Grade 11:  YBA – Youth Business Adventure – Fun summer learning opportunity.  Applications available in the School Counseling Office and also during class next week.  Due to me onJanuary 26 (The form says Feb. 23 but I must mail early and must be evaluated by committee).   Learn about business at summer camp at USD.  Great opportunity.  Cost is $250..
