Grand March Practice:  Friday, April 26th students will go to 2nd hour at the bell.  Teachers will take 2nd hour attendance, with students being dismissed by intercom at 9:25.  Students will be dismissed by Junior Class Advisers by 9:50 back to class.

Grade 11:  Boys State The American Legion Local Post #39, Groton SD is seeking applicants for the 77th session of South Dakota Boys State.  American Legion Boys State is the premier programs for teaching how government works, while developing leadership skills and an appreciation of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Smarter Balanced Testing Schedule 2019 – High School

Students will test periods 1-3 only

All books, notebooks, smart watches, and cell phones must be put away during testing. Cell phones can not be accessed during testing and must be put in a box.   All computers must be charged – you will test on your computer!  Bring a book to read after you are finished testing.

Aberdeen Hunter Safe Course will be presented in April, May, and August by members of the Sportsman’s Club of Brown County in Cooperation with the SD Game, Fish and Parks Hunt Safe Program.  It is open to anyone 12 years of age or older, and to 11 year olds who will be turning 12 before December 31, 2019.  More information is available in the office.

Grades 11-12:   Reminder of things to do for the ACT Test on Saturday, April 13, 2019 in Aberdeen or Groton.   Bring your admission ticket and a driver’s license (photo ID), 2 calculators, pencils with erasers, a watch, and possibly a water bottle.  Be sure and show up at the testing location at least 15 minutes early (7:45).  It might be a good idea to review last minute formulas and rules.  No caps are to be worn during testing.  No beverage will be allowed in the testing area.  No cell phones are to be used at any time during test (including the break). Testing should conclude around noon.  Those who are taking the writing assessment should be done by 12:45 p.m.  Be sure and do the practice test prior to the test.  Stop by the School Counseling Office if you need an extra copy.
