Student Bulletin

If anyone has and filled out Today Notes, please give them to Maddy Schuelke, Gabby Merkel or the office.  They are starting to put the books together and would like to have them and pictures soon. Thank you!

 

7th and 8th grade Boys B-ball practice will start Thursday, Jan 3rd right after school.  All boys interested in playing should bring practice gear.  If you did NOT participate in a Fall sport, you will need to make sure all physical forms are updated and turned in the first day of practice.  Coach Schuring and Coach Kurth

Seniors need one baby pictures any size any orientation, two wallet size senior pictures for the slide show any orientation, two wallet pictures head and shoulders and vertical for composite and yearbook. You will need to turn in a total of 5 pictures to Mrs Madsen.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the Feb. 9 test is due online by Jan. 11.  Register atwww.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates include: April 13, June, and July.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.

Students are not allowed to attend regular school activities which are held during the school day unless they are watching a sibling, they are accompanied by a parent, and are not on the ineligibility list.  All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance.  Any violations will result in an unexcused absence.  This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal.  All work must be completed prior to being excused.

Good luck to the Boys’ Basketball teams tonight against Britton/Hecla

FCCLA is sponsoring “Shoot for a Pop” at the boys basketball game tonight!

The Gingerbread House Contest/Hunter Schaller Fundraiser is tonight at the boys basketball game.  Come vote for your favorite gingerbread house and your name gets put in a drawing for a $25 Ken’s gift card.  All proceeds go to Hunter’s family!

Grade 12:  Financial Aid Information– Reminder to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form (www.fafsa.gov).  You will need your computer, the FSA ID, and your 2017 tax information to start the process.  File as soon as possible!  The priority deadline for Black Hills State is December 1!  University of Sioux Falls is Jan. 1 and a lot of schools are March 1.  All students received financial aid packets during English 12.
