The Emmanuel Lutheran and United Methodist Youth Group will meet tonight at 7:45 at the Lutheran Church.

There will be a short meeting for wrestlers on Thursday after school.  Uniforms need to be turned in at that time.

The Women in Science conference will have an evening keynote session on Tuesday, March 6th, at 7pm at NSU’s Johnson Fine Art Center. The keynote speaker is Emily Graslie- “The Brain Scoop” host and chief curiosity correspondent at the field Museum, Chicago.

All girls’ basketball players need to turn in uniforms to Mr. Wanner by Thursday.

During National FFA week you can wear a hat or cap for a $1 each day.  If you would like to wear a hat during FFA week you can pay an FFA member in the library before school starts, or Mr. Franken after school starts.  You will get a sticker that you must wear to let teachers know you have paid.

Grades 9-12:  Do you want to be a leader in your community? Do you want to learn about your unique strengths? The brand new Empower Youth leadership program can give you the answers to these questions.  The summer program is sponsored by Northern Electric Cooperative and will consist of three separate sessions throughout the summer to develop your leadership skills. During these sessions, you will take a strengths assessment, tour power plants, and even get tips about social media, resume writing, and searching for your future career. Go to www.empoweryouth.coop or www.northernelectric.coop/empoweryouth to learn more about the program and register by April 18.    Presentation for interested students in Groton on Feb. 21 from 2:15 – 2:30 in the Conference Room.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the April 14 test is due online by March 9.  Register atwww.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: April 14, June, July, Sept. Oct. and Dec.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.

Grade 12:  Financial Aid Information– Reminder to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.  You will need your computer, the FSA ID, and your 2016 tax information to start the process.  File as soon as possible!  The priority deadline for a lot of schools is March 1.
