Grades 11-12:  US Senate Youth Competition and Scholarship competition:  Opportunity to win a free trip to Washington, DC for two SD students.  GHS will select two students to take the test and send the results to the state.   Only students who hold an elected or appointed office in student government, civic or educational organizations can apply.  Test covers government and history.  Stop by my office if you are interested.  Deadline Monday, 9/15/18.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the October 27 test is due online by Sept. 28. Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen or Grotonbut be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: December, February, April, June and July.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.

Hazing activities of any type are inconsistent with the educational process and will be prohibited at all times.  Hazing is defined as follows: Doing any act or coercing another, including the victim, to do any act of initiation into any student or other organization that causes or creates a substantial risk of causing mental or physical harm to any person.  Permission, consent, or assumption of risk by an individual subjected to hazing does not lessen the prohibition contained in the policy.  Appropriate disciplinary action will follow and may be reported to law enforcement.

Student Bulletin

Hazing activities of any type are inconsistent with the educational process and will be prohibited at all times.  Hazing is defined as follows: Doing any act or coercing another, including the victim, to do any act of initiation into any student or other organization that causes or creates a substantial risk of causing mental or physical harm to any person.  Permission, consent, or assumption of risk by an individual subjected to hazing does not lessen the prohibition contained in the policy.  Appropriate disciplinary action will follow and may be reported to law enforcement.

 

FBLA meeting Thursday, September 6th at 8:00 AM in Ms. Lingbeck’s room.  Breakfast will be served and new members are welcome!

Computers will be handed out to Jr. and seniors tomorrow (Tuesday) as long as their paperwork is turned in.

ATTENTION JUNIORS: the sign up to work concessions is in the office. You must sign up for at least two games. If you choose not to sign up, the advisors will sign you up and you will be expected to show up. Please see any junior advisor with questions. We will need two more people for tomorrow night’s volleyball game. Thanks!
