Student Bulletin

No CCD at SEAS Catholic Church today.

 

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday, February 7 from 1:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  School will dismiss at 1:15 p.m.  Bonus points will be awarded to students whose parents visit with each of their teachers at conferences.  If you have an A or A- in a class your parents do not need to see those teachers.   Grades posted on Wednesday will be used to determine the A or A-.

 

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meeting on Sunday at 7pm.  We will meet in the Arena Lobby.  This is open to anyone who would like to attend in grades 6-12.  We will play some games, have a few snacks, and have some fellowship time.  For more information talk to Mr. Franken.

FBLA meeting Thursday, February 7th at 8:00 A.M. in Mrs. Compton’s room.  Breakfast will be served!

 

There will be a Day Co. Ikes Youth Ice Fishing Derby on Feb. 10, 2019 open to anglers 18 and under.  The tournament will be held out of Webster, SD.  For more information go to www.outdoors101project.com and click on the “2019 Day Co. Ikes Youth Ice Fishing Derby” page.

Grades 11-12:   Reminder of things to do for the ACT Test on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019 in Aberdeen.   Bring your admission ticket and a driver’s license (photo ID), 2 calculators, pencils with erasers, a watch, and possibly a water bottle.  Be sure and show up at the testing location at least 15 minutes early (7:45).  It might be a good idea to review last minute formulas and rules. No caps are to be worn during testing.  No beverage will be allowed in the testing area.  No cell phones are to be used at any time during test (including the break). Testing should conclude around noon.  Those who are taking the writing assessment should be done by 12:45 p.m.  Be sure and do the practice test prior to the test.  Stop by the School Counseling Office if you need an extra copy.

 

Grades 6-12:  This week is National School Counseling Week!  Today is the Last day to guessfor the Candy Line which outside Mrs. Sternhagen’s office.  Guess the number of candy items and win the jar at the end of Wednesday!   One guess per student!  Also, see any of your School Counselors – Mrs. Schwan, Miss Seeklander and Mrs. Sternhagen –  for a Hug this week (the Hershey’s kind!).

 

Grades 10-11:  All sophomores and juniors and their parents are invited to a special presentation on The Future – Start Now!  Topics will include Getting Involved, Working on Academics, Getting Ready for Testing, Visiting Colleges and Shadowing, Applying to College, Paying for College, and Applying for Scholarships.  The presentation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 during parent-teacher conferences from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Groton Area High School computer lab. See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.
