Student Bulletin


Good luck to our volleyball team tonight against Milbank!!  Gate will open at 6:00 p.m. Matches start at 7:00 p.m.  Students pay $4 and adults $6.  No passes or activity tickets can be used.

PROM COMMITTEE meeting next Thursday, November 8th during lunch on the stage.  Bring ideas and pictures to share with the group.


The All-School Food Drive sponsored by FCCLA will be on Wednesday, Nov. 7.  Meet in the arena lobby at 6:00.  Pizza and pop will be served after collecting and bagging the food!  Join us to help those in need right in our community!


Student Council: Please plan to meet during lunch this week on Thursday, November 1st in the Office Conference Room.  Please stop and see Mrs. Sombke if you will be unable to attend.

Football Athletic Banquet will be Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Golf course.

FBLA Members:  Please remember to bring a dozen individually wrapped baked goods on Thursday, November 1st for our bake sale.


FBLA will be hosting a blood drive on Wednesday November 14th, in the Groton High School Gym from 8:45-3:30, please contact Mrs. Compton or an FBLA member if you would like to schedule an appointment to donate!


All football players turn in your football equipment after school to Mr. Wanner by Friday.

FCCLA fruit/meat/cheese sales run now through November 5!

The following volleyball players need to return their uniforms to Miss Erickson: Ashtyn Bahr, Sydney Leicht, Sahara Pardick, Camryn Kurtz, Carly Guthmiller, and Ashlyn Sperry.

Congratulations to Emily Thompson for being named as the school winner for the 2018 Wendy’s High School Heisman.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the Dec. 8 test is due online by Nov. 2.  Register at   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Other test dates are: Feb., April, June, and July.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.


Grade 12 NCRC  Testing – The NCRC is the National Career Readiness Certificate Test issued by ACT (  Test will be given on Wednesday, November 7th from 9:45 – 1:36.

Grade 12 Financial Aid Information Night – The Financial Aid Information Night Meeting to learn about the FAFSA will be Nov. 8 at 5:30 pm in the computer lab.


Grade 12:  Groton High School will be promoting SD Free College and Tech Application Week from October 29 – November 2, 2018!  Reminder that all forms must be submitted before 3 pm on Nov. 2 to be free.  Mrs. Sternhagen will be gone on Friday so please see her today if you have any questions!
