Student Bulletin


Jostens will be here today at 12:43 to meet with the sophomores and seniors that plan to place an order.  You will meet in Mrs. Siebel’s classroom (room 104).

Picture day is Thursday, October 18.

Parents Night for football players and cheerleaders will be on Friday at the game.

All FCCLAers – pick up your Fruit/Meat/Cheese order forms from Mrs. Tietz this week!

Oral Interp students, please come in and practice and sign up for upcoming contests. October 20th at NSU and October 22 at Brookings will be the next upcoming contests for ALL Interpers!

Student flu shot consent forms are on the counter in the office.  Shots will be given on Thursday, October 11 at the high school.   Students that signed up will be called to the office when it is time. Shots will also be given from 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the elementary.   Return the completed consent form and copy of insurance card to the school office.

Grades 9-12:  Nurse For A Day at Presentation College on either November 2 from 10 – 2 or February 15.    Observe and take part in Avera Simulation Center demonstrations, practice injections and taking vitals, visit with a panel of Presentation College faculty and students, and more. Grades 9-12:  Ready SET-Go! One Day (Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9-5) workshop for high school girls (Science, Engineering, and Technology.) Learn about engineering, math, and science through hands-on activities, interaction with professionals, and learn about careers.  Cost $25 per student and free for parents (lunch, tours, and activities for students and parents included).  Check your email for the application information and sign up right away!

Grades 10-11: PSAT test is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 10th Periods 1-4 in Ms. Seeklander’s room (grade 10) and Room 304 (grade 11)  Make every effort to be present – the test can not be given at any other time.  Please bring a calculator and pencils.  Do not bring your cell phone (or you can put it in a box up front).  Go to the bathroom before the test begins.  Reminder that there are two math sections – one without a calculator  – and that there are math questions that must be gridded.  Please do the practice test!  More detailed information has been discussed in English class and has been emailed to you.

Grade 12:  Wendys Heisman:  Scholarship opportunity and recognition for scholar/athletes.  School, state, region, and national winners are selected.   Fill out the application online.  It must be verified by a school official – put me or a teacher (coach who is teacher), or administrator as the Reviewer (Jodi.Sternhagen@k12.sd.us).  The reviewer must write a recommendation so choose someone who knows you well.  No relatives may be recommenders.   Please make sure your GPA (unweighted), class rank and ACT scores are accurate.   Unweighted GPA’s are found on your transcript.  The deadline is October 17, 2018 at 3 pm.  In order to insure that the verification process goes smoothly, please complete the application by Friday, October 12, 2018 as the site is too busy later in the week.    www.wendysheisman.com.

Grade 12:  Reminder of the Scholarship Presentation during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 11 from 6:45 – 7:30 for you and your parents in the computer lab.  National, state, and local scholarship opportunities will be discussed and many local forms will be handed out.  Please plan to attend!
